Amsterdam has a lot to offer when you visit this city. You can visit a lot of museums, take a tour through the canals or enjoy the beautiful zoo Artis. Zaanse Schans

At the Zaanse Schans you can visit typical Dutch houses and windmills from back in the days. The Zaanse Schans is located on a so called ‘dijk’. Some wind mills still work! You can buy actual flower from these wind mills. The Zaanse Schans is about half an hour by bus outside of Amsterdam. There leaving buses to the Zaanse Schans every hour at Central Station. This is a fun outdoor hotspots if you want to see more of the old Dutch culture.

Knights and princesses at Muiderslot

Muiden, a small town close to Amsterdam has an actual castle called Muiderslot. This castle is from the midcentury and shows how people used to live here. There are guided tours to learn all about the castle itself. The beautiful garden is a must visit after the tour. They grow ‘forgotten vegetables’ in this garden.

If you’re in the area anyways, to visit the Muiderslot. Then the small town where Muiderslot is located is very nice to visit. You’ll see small, old houses, a lot of boats in the canal and there are a few good restaurants where you can grab lunch or dinner. Outside this town you’ll find the country side.
