At the Zaanse Schans you can visit typical Dutch houses and windmills from back in the days. The Zaanse Schans is located on a so called ‘dijk’. Some wind mills still work! You can buy actual flower from these wind mills. The Zaanse Schans is about half an hour by bus outside of Amsterdam. There leaving buses to the Zaanse Schans every hour at Central Station. Knights and princesses at Muiderslot
Muiden, a small town close to Amsterdam has an actual castle called Muiderslot. This castle is from the midcentury and shows how people used to live here. There are guided tours to learn all about the castle itself. The beautiful garden is a must visit after the tour. They grow ‘forgotten vegetables’ in this garden.
