Typical Dutch Rooftops

The best views with a low budget

Amsterdam is an amazingly vibrant city. The city is a beautiful melting pot of cultures. Due to this meltingpot the city also has a lot of great international restaurants. The way of experiencing the Netherlands fully is not only by eating traditional Dutch food but also by the fusions of kitchens that are created in this city.

The Dutch architecture

Another way of experiencing the Dutch authentic ways is to fully understand and experience their architecture. The Netherlands are famous for their houses and typical Dutch Rooftops. And the best way of seeing these rooftops is from the sky. Or well, at least a few meters up in the air. Since a private tour by plane does not fit your budget unless your name is Kim K. or Kanye we creatively searched for other options of things you could do to still experience the same vibes but on a backpackers budget.

Awesome tips

And yeey, we have some awesome tips. If you travel between April and October you an actually climb the ‘Oudekerkstoren in Amsterdam. You can have million dollar views for just 8 euro’s. I mean, if that is not an amazing deal we don’t know what is.
Make sure that you go there early as these tickets are only available at the door and are not being sold prior to your arrival. If you want to get a bit fancy and you are with a group of max 6 people you can actually book a private guide for 90 euro. 15 euro each is still a great deal, especially if you get all the secret info only a guide can offer you. Also an advantage of this ticket, this one is available upon prior purchase and therefor you can be sure that there will be an organized tour instead of going there and possibly waiting a few hours until it is your turn to go up.

Chill and relax

And when it is time to netflix and chill you of course need a great place to stay. Luckily Amsterdam has many great options and affordable hostels. Hostel Sarphati is just the place for you. Hostel Sarphati is running on a high occupancy rate, therefor, if you would like to chill and sleep here as well, don’t hesitate too much because before you know it there are no more beds available.
